Ty Murray and Chelsie Hightower
After watching this week’s show, I know have a new pick for who I want to win the mirror ball trophy… Ty Murray and Chelsie Hightower. I just love Ty’s attitude and he is so darn CUTE!!
I think Ty is the perfect person to win because (1) he is not in show business, (2) he looks like he is trying something that is out of his “comfort zone” (like being in a ring with a bull is easier) and (3) he seems to be improving each week. Like Len Goodman mentioned in the show, he gave him a “4″ the first week and didn’t want to see them the following week. But now… I can’t wait to see them next week.
And like I said last week, it is time for Steve Wozniak & Karina Smirnoff to get voted off the show. It just isn’t pretty to watch them “dance”.

I have come to the realization that I like all those sappy movies on Lifetime. I got suckered in again in watching Nora Roberts’ Midnight Bayou.
In the Nora Roberts movie “Midnight Bayou,” Harvard-educated lawyer Declan Fitzpatrick (Jerry O’Connell) impulsively gives up his settled life to buy Manet Hall, a newly restored plantation manor near New Orleans to which he has always found himself drawn. Legend has it that the house is haunted, and shortly after Declan moves in he starts hearing voices and seeing things. Declan is also distracted by an undeniable attraction to Cajun local Lena Simone (Lauren Stamile), who grew up on the bayou with her grandmother Odette (Faye Dunaway) and has her own deep connection to the manor. I have never read a Nora Robert’s book, so I wasn’t interested in watching any of the four movies that are coming on Lifetime.
Not sure if I’m going to watch the other Nora Robert’s movies, but knowing me, if I’m flipping through channels and stop there for a minute, I’ll be watching to see how it ends.
I’ll tell you, I’m convinced that the Lifetime channel send something through the TV screen to make you watch their movies!!

Ainsworth High School (Flint. Michigan)
These past couple of months, some old friends fron high school and I have been reconnecting on Facebook. I started a group called Ainsworth High School and we have over 300 members so far.
About a month ago, there was a suggestion by Lynette and Debra to have an All Ainsworth High School Alumni Get-Together. Just an informal gathering for anyone who went to Ainsworth. The get-together is Saturday, March 28, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. at Sherman’s Lounge in Flint, Michigan. There are over 60 people who have RSVP and more planning to attend also.
Unfortunately, I will not be able to make the get-together. But I know there will be people there taking lots of pictures for those of us who could not make it.
Hopefully this will not be the last All Ainsworth High School Alumni Get-Together.

Last week while I was watching “Grey’s Anatomy“and “ER“, I got all caught up in them and was crying while watching them. So this week, I wondered if I cried because the shows are just that good or if I was having a “pity party for one” (ppfo)?
Well, I guess I was just having a “ppfo”. While the shows were good tonight, there was nothing to make me cry like I did last week.

I’ve been in an 80′s kind of mood this week. I’ve been listening to it at work. I’ve put several movies from the 80′s on my iPod. Here is one of the songs that I’ve been listening to this week: “Whisper To A Scream (Birds Fly)” by Icicle Work.
I remember when this song first come out in 1984. But it wasn’t until a former co-worker was challenging me in “80′s Music Trivia”. That I had to find this song to add it to my 80′s hits on my iPod.
They just don’t make songs like this anymore… Long live the 80′s!!

Well, I missed the first couple of dances of the show tonight, so I had to take a look on Dancing with the Stars – U.S. season 8 on Wikipedia — I love this site.
My pick to win it all… Denise Richards and Maksim Chmerkovskiy aren’t doing too good so far. I might have to change my pick on who I think is going to win. And since this is my blog, I have the right to change my mind whenever and however many times I feel like it!! LOL!
Like I said last week, I like Gilles Marini and Cheryl Burke, but I really don’t want to see Cheryl win again! So this week I am going to vote for: Gilles and Cheryl, Lil’ Kim and Derek, Ty and Chelsie, Shawn and Mark and David and Kym.
The couple that I think will be voted off is: Steve Wozniak and Karina Smirnoff. They were fun to watch the first week, but a little painful since then.
The couple that is becoming on of my favorites is Ty Murray and Chelsie Hightower, I wouldn’t mind seeing them win the mirror ball trophy. It would be nice to have someone who is not a performer win. Plus Ty is so darn CUTE!!!

Today was a good day. Mi Padrinos Elizondo (my Godparents) and their son, Mel, visited my family. I was trying to remember the last time I saw them? It must have been in the early 80′s. They were driving to San Antonio to look for a used truck for their ranch. They all live in Laredo, Texas which is about an hour and half away from where I live now. (Side note: growing up in Flint, Michigan, they used to live at the end of the street where I grew up.)
They looked great! They spent time catching up with my parents and catching up on what has been going on with the families. Here is a picture of the three of us.

And here is a picture of the three of us from 1967, I was only a couple of months old. My Madrina said that she had never seen this picture, so I’m going to get both of these pictures framed for her and send them to her.

It was a nice to see them again after all of these years. I told them that I will go and visit them in Laredo soon. I don’t want several years to pass again before I seen them.
