Great Article Sylvia. The Marathon Bar was truly a fantastic item of the 1970s. It was very long and super thin. The genius was that they filled it with a caramel that was more adhesive than epoxy and it would literally take hours to eat. As a true glutton that always looked for quantity over quality, the Marathon Bar was my favorite, though I am convinced that the loss of several of my key molars in 2003 was due to this fine confection.
