A fellow blogger and friend, Tom Baker asked me what my thoughts were of the upcoming Super Bowl game were. Well here are my two-cents worth of Super Bowl XLVI.
This year’s Super Bowl teams are the New England Patriots, the American Football Conference (AFC) champions versus the New York Giants, the National Football Conference (NFC) champion. The game will be played at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Year team was established:
- New York Giants — 1925
- New England Patriots — 1959
Home Games are played at:
- New York Giants — East Rutherford, New Jersey at MetLife Stadium
- New England Patriots — Foxborough, Massachusetts at Gillette Stadium
Team Colors:
- New York Giants — Blue, Red, White, Gray
- New England Patriots — Nautical Blue, New Century Silver, Red, White
Starting Quarterback:
- New York Giants — Eli Manning
- New England Patriots — Tom Brady
Since my teams, the Detroit Lions and New Orleans Saints are not playing in the game, I am taking a different tact in picking the team that I want to win the Super Bowl.
Since I like the NFC better than the AFC, I have to go with the Giants on this one. (One point for the New York Giants.)
The Giants have been around long than the Patriots, so I am going with the Giants on this one. (One point for the New York Giants.)
I have never been to New Jersey or seen the stadium where the Giants play. I have been in Foxborough and saw the stadium where the Patriots play, so I have to go with the Patriots on this one. (One point for the New England Patriots.)
Team colors, basically they have the same colors for their uniforms. Only the Patriots have fancy names for them. And just for that, I am going with the Giants on this one. (One point for the New York Giants.)
Regarding the quarterbacks, I could go by their stats throughout the season or I could go by where they went to school (Manning – University of Mississippi (Ole Miss); Tom Brady – University of Michigan) in this case, it would be Tom Brady — Go Blue! But I’m going on which quarterback is cuter… and that would be Tom Brady. So I have to go with the Patriots on this one. (One point for the New England Patriots.)
Favorite Past Player
New York Giants — Frank Gifford
New England Patriots — Drew Bledsoe
I am going with the Giants on this one. (One point for the New York Giants.)
Team Logo
– the team that has the better logo is the Giants. (One point for the New York Giants.)
So here is my final score on the team that I think will win Super Bowl XLVI — New York Giants!
Hey, this is my blog and I’ll pick’em how I want to, it doesn’t have to make sense! Besides that, I like watching the commercials during the game better.
So, how did I do Tom? Do you think I did a good job on picking which team will win?

Well Sylvia, since the Colts were never in the running as Super Bowl contenders and Peyton will not be playing I have to hope the Giants win. Tom Brady is a great player but I have to stick with the Manning boys. Something tell me the Patriots will win, but the Giants have conquered before and they can do it again. I’m going with the Giants because they are also playing in my one time home of Indianapolis — again the Manning connection.
I do miss Indy a little. I miss the Hoosier hospitality.
