CSI: NY – “Yahrzeit”

I have always been a fan of “CSI: NY”. I like the stories and of course there is Gary Sinise who plays Det. Mac Taylor — mercy!! Plus, I love the them song for the show: Baba O’Riley” by The Who.

I try to catch the show when it comes on during the week, but sometimes I miss it. Luckly, they show re-runs on the weekend. This past Saturday, I watched probably one of the best CSI: NY episodes I have ever seen. It was an episode called  “Yahrzeit” that aired in 2009. The guest actor in the episode was  Ed Asner (got an Emmy nomination for his role).

A murder leads CSI to a group of white supremacists, the discovery of precious items stolen from Holocaust survivors, and perhaps the uncovering of a former Nazi guard.

Was was glued to my TV. Usually when I watch TV, I am on my laptop and watching TV at the same time. But not this time. But the disclaimer at the beginning of the show caught my attention. It mentioned that there would be images of the Holocaust.

By the end of the show, I was crying!  I just sat there and was amazed on how good the show was. I even watched half the show again. If you didn’t get a chance to see this episode when it first came out or in one of the re-runs, I highly suggest that you do. If you want to see the end of the show, click here.
