This was nice…

I have never met Tom Baker, but we know each other from our blogs. Tom wrote this and it was very nice of him to give a shout out to my mom, Lydia M. Garza. It would totally boggle my mom’s mind that if you Goggled her name there would be sites about her on the Internet!!

Condolences

January 23, 2010

Condolences are due to members of our universal blogging family. Two friends of mine and perhaps yours as well have lost members of their family. On January 7, 2010, Benito T. Calzada, Sr. passed. He is the grandfather of Judy Santiago. On January 10, 2010, Lydia M. Garza passed. She is the mother of Sylvia Garza.

We are a family here at Morning Erection and I ask that you pay a visit to their blogs and just let them know you’re thinking about them in their time of bereavement. I’m sure they would appreciate it and I know I would as well. Thanks.

To the family of Teddy Pendergrass, who passed on January 13, 2010, best known for his R & B hits Turn Off The Lights and Close The Door; I want you to know Teddy will be missed.

REST IN PEACE

A face we love is missing
a voice we know is still
a place is vacant in all our hearts,
that only you could fill.
Tears in our eyes,
they won’t go away,
we wish you were here with us today.
We know you never ment to hurt us
or make us cry.
Our love for you will always stay,
if only things didn’t end this way.
But you’ve brought it to the final end,
we will always remember you as our friend.
We love you
Rest in paradise till we meet again.

I have met some really neat people since I have had this blog and I am glad to call Tom a friend of mine!

Thanks, Tom!

  1. I just came from Tom’s site. I just started my blog but I understand he is a fellow Indianapolis blogger. I am sorry for your loss and I pray God sends angels to minister to you in your time of grief. Please stop by some time.

    • Nice to hear from you. When I started this blog I had no idea that there would (1) be people out there who would read it and (2) that I would “met” such nice and talented people. Look forward to reading your blog.

  2. It was an honor Sylvia. You are right. There are lots of great people out there. Both the writers and readers of blogs. You are one of them and I appreciate your friendship as well. My Dad tells me he thinks The Flintstones were once a prime time ‘adult’ cartoon.

Thanks again, and in the words of me and my neighbors: “GO COLTS!”

  3. Hey Sylvia, I just wanted to stop by and say hello today, I know that the first month is really hard and I hope that you are leaning on the people around you for support. I pray that God will bless you today and the upcoming days as you grieve your Mom, take care!
