Thanks, Christy

I got a message from my friend, Christy about my Elvis Presley post. I was incorrect saying it was Elvis’ birthday. This past week was ELVIS WEEK at Graceland.

Sorry for the confusion. And thanks again, Christy.

Happy 75th Brithday, Elvis!

I thought I was an Elvis Presley fan, but I failed to give a shout out on his birthday on August 16th! I would have loved to be at Graceland during Elvis Week to celebrate with all of the other Elvis fans this year.

Here are some of my favorite pictures of Elvis.

Young Elvis

70's Elvis

Long live “King of Rock and Roll”! And one of my next trips will be to go back to Graceland… maybe for the celebration of Elvis’ 80th birthday in 2015!

What is on my iPod…

Since I got my new job, I haven’t had much time to listen to my iPod. But I have listened to it more while I’m driving on the road.

Here are a few of the songs that I’ve been listening to. Do you have any of these songs in your iPod library?

“Heart to Heart” (1982) by Kenny Loggins and Michael McDonald (Video)

I think I have listened to this song at least 7 or 8 times whenever I listen to it on my iPod. There is just something about it that I really like.

“Only the Lonely” (1982) by The Motels (Video)

One of my favorite songs from the 80’s. Whenever this song comes on, I pretend to be Martha Davisand sing like her.

Dance the Night Away” (1979)by Van Halen (Video)

I love Van Halen. Everytime I hear this song, I say to myself that David Lee Roth was the best lead singer of Van Halen. Of course, whenever I hear a Van Halen song with Sammy Hagar singing, I say that he was the best lead singer of the band. So on goes my everlasting debate on who was the best lead singer of Van Halen.

But “Diamond Dave” does a great job sing lead in the song.

When She Was My Girl” (1981) by The Four Tops (Video)

I love The Four Tops and this is one of my favorite songs by them.

Celebration” (1980) by Kool and the Gang (Video)

This is one of my all-time favorite party/dance songs! Everytime I hear the song it makes me smile. I love the lead sing, James “J.T.” Taylor.

Things that make me laugh…

I was on Facebook this morning and I saw this video that my friend, Jason posted. It is a Detroit Zoo commercial from 1982. I remembering watching when I lived in Michigan thought it was so funny!

A popular ad made for the Detroit Zoo that aired in the early-to-mid-80s in the Detroit area.

My favorite is line is “Let me talk to your agent.”

Thanks for posting it Jason! I had a good laugh.
