Tony Curtis and The Flintstones

This was a post that I did on September 30th, but I couldn’t post it on WordPress.

When I hear the name Tony Curtis, this is what comes to my mind… is when he was “Stony Curtis,” a voice-over guest star on The Flintstones. (Video)

DWTS (Season 11) — Week 2

Well, I’m a little backwards on my blogging with Dancing with the Stars. Usually, I’ll post something after the show on  Monday nights.

So here are my picks, a day late.

Best dance of the night: Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough

Maybe it’s their time to go home: Michael Bolton and Chelsie Hightower

I really want to see them dance next week: Florence Henderson and Corky Ballas

Best song of the night: “Dreaming“—Blondie

Side notes:

I didn’t like Kurt Warner as a football player, not sure if I like him as a “dancer”.

I really think there is something a little wrong with Mike “The Situation”  Sorrentino.

I really don’t care for Brandy Norwood and Maksim Chmerkovskiy. They don’t seem like a good pair together.

Next week, I will blog right after Monday’s night show.

NFL Players

I have always been a football fan. But when I was younger, I really didn’t pay attention to the players. Now that I am older, I wish I would have pay more attention to some of my favorite players. Here are just a few:

Steve Largent
Gary Fensick
Walter Payton (his younger years)
John Riggins
Billy Sims
Barry Sanders (I wish he would have played longer)
Cris Collinsworth

Looking at this list of players, I wonder if they could play in today’s NFL?

Need Washing?

I got this from a friend and wanted to pass it along.

Thanks, Amy.

NEED WASHING?

A little girl had been shopping with her Mom in WalMart. She must have been 6 years old, this beautiful red haired, freckle faced image of innocence.

It was pouring outside. The kind of rain that gushes over the top of rain gutters, so much in a hurry to hit the earth it has no time to flow down the spout.. We all stood there, under the awning, just inside the door of the WalMart.
We waited, some patiently, others irritated because nature messed up their hurried day.

I am always mesmerized by rainfall. I got lost in the sound and sight of the heavens washing away the dirt and dust of the world. Memories of running, splashing so carefree as a child came pouring in as a welcome reprieve from the worries of my day.

Her little voice was so sweet as it broke the hypnotic trance we were all caught in, ‘Mom let’s run through the rain,’
She said.
‘What?’ Mom asked.

‘Let’s run through the rain!’ She repeated.

‘No, honey. We’ll wait until it slows down a bit,’ Mom replied.

This young child waited a minute and repeated: ‘Mom, let’s run through the rain..’

‘We’ll get soaked if we do,’ Mom said.

‘No, we won’t, Mom. That’s not what you said this morning,’ the young girl said as she tugged at her Mom’s arm.

‘This morning? When did I say we could run through the rain and not get wet?’

‘Don’t you remember? When you were talking to Daddy about his cancer, you said, ‘ If God can get us through this, He can get us through anything! ‘ ‘

The entire crowd stopped dead silent.. I swear you couldn’t hear anything but the rain.. We all stood silently. No one left. Mom paused and thought for a moment about what she would say.

Now some would laugh it off and scold her for being silly. Some might even ignore what was said. But this was a moment of affirmation in a young child’s life. A time when innocent trust can be nurtured so that it will bloom into faith.

‘Honey, you are absolutely right. Let’s run through the rain. If GOD let’s us get wet, well maybe we just need washing,’ Mom said.

Then off they ran. We all stood watching, smiling and laughing as they darted past the cars and yes, through the puddles. They got soaked.

They were followed by a few who screamed and laughed like children all the way to their cars. And yes, I did.
I ran. I got wet. I needed washing.

Circumstances or people can take away your material possessions, they can take away your money, and they can take away your health. But no one can ever take away your precious memories…So, don’t forget to make time and take the opportunities to make memories everyday.

To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under heaven.
I HOPE YOU STILL TAKE THE TIME TO RUN THROUGH THE RAIN.

They say it takes a minute to find a special person, an hour to appreciate them, a day to love them, but then an entire life to forget them.

Send this to the people you’ll never forget and remember to also send it to the person who sent it to you. It’s a short message to let them know that you’ll never forget them.

If you don’t send it to anyone, it means you’re in a hurry.

Take the time to live!!!

Keep in touch with your friends, you never know when you’ll need each other —
And don’t forget to run in the rain!

This is funny

I got this from my friend, Kerry and thought it was pretty funny.

THE POTTY

A LITTLE THREE YEAR OLD BOY IS SITTING ON THE TOILET.

HIS MOTHER THINKS HE HAS BEEN IN THERE TOO LONG, SO SHE GOES IN TO SEE WHAT’S UP.

THE LITTLE BOY IS SITTING ON THE TOILET READING A BOOK. BUT ABOUT EVERY 15 SECONDS OR SO, HE PUTS THE BOOK DOWN, GRIPS ONTO TO THE TOILET SEAT WITH HIS LEFT HAND AND HITS HIMSELF ON TOP OF THE HEAD WITH HIS RIGHT HAND.

HIS MOTHER SAYS: “BILLY, ARE YOU ALL RIGHT? YOU’VE BEEN IN HERE FOR A WHILE.”

BILLY SAYS: “I’M FINE, MOMMY… I JUST HAVEN’T GONE POTTY’ YET.”

MOTHER SAYS: “OK, YOU CAN STAY HERE A FEW MORE MINUTES. BUT, BILLY, WHY ARE YOU HITTING YOURSELF ON THE HEAD?”

BILLY SAYS:

“WORKS FOR KETCHUP.”

What is on my iPod

Here are some more songs that are on iPod.

“Hearts” by Marty Balin

I love this song. I love his voice. I need to see if there is a YouTube video of this song.

“Born to Be Alive” by Patrick Hernandez

Disco Rules! I missed the Disco era by a couple of years. I would love to have gone to the disco when they were cool! I’m sure that this song would have been playing.

“Mary’s Prayer” by Danny Wilson

I think this is the only song by Danny Wilson. This is one of my favorite go to songs.

“I Know What Boys Like” by The Waitresses

I remember this video when MTV first came out. Not one of my favorites, but it’s from the 80’s.

“Your Smiling Face” by James Taylor

I think this is my favorite James Taylor song. I think I listen to this song over and over one time when I was driving to work. (It’s a 35 minute drive). That is how much I like this song.

So what songs do you have?

For all you Gen-Xer’s… when you heard the song that Jennifer and Derek were going to dance to, didn’t it btring a tear to your eye?

What the heck happened to Mark Ballas‘s hair or lack of hair?

I love Corky Ballas. He just so cool and  like watching him dance.

When I first started blogging about DWTS, I alsways complained about Samantha Harris. Well after watching Brooke Burke just these past two nights, I miss Samantha!! I’m so sorry for everything I said about you while you were the co-host!!

And I have to say it (just like Carrie Ann Inaba said)… Rick Fox is a FOX!!
