The Streets in Heaven

I just wanted to post something what happened in Aurora, Colorado this morning. I’m sure we will find out much more about the people who lost their lives. But for right now, let us remember those who died and their families and friends.

Jessica Ghawi (Jessica Redfield) was one of the victims from he shooting in Aurora. Colorado wrote this in her blog. She blogged about surviving the Eaton Centre mall shooting in Toronto that killed two people and sent several others to the hospital.

“… I say all the time that every moment we have to live our life is a blessing. So often I have found myself taking it for granted. Every hug from a family member. Every laugh we share with friends. Even the times of solitude are all blessings. Every second of every day is a gift. After Saturday evening, I know I truly understand how blessed I am for each second I am given.”

~ Jessica Ghawi (Jessica Redfield)

How ironic that she would go through something like that again. Here is link to her blog: A Run On of Thoughts.

Side notes:

  • One of my dearest and oldest friend’s from high school was just at that theater two days ago.
  • A friend of my is friend’s with Jessica Ghawi mother.
  • This has been a rough week — a friend of mine niece’s was killed in a car accident yesterday. Another friend’s dad past away the the day before that.

One of my favorite quotes from “The West Wing” —

President Josiah Bartlet: “… The streets of heaven are too crowded with angels tonight. They’re our students and our teachers and our parents and our friends. The streets of heaven are too crowded with angels, but every time we think we have measured our capacity to meet a challenge, we look up and we’re reminded that that capacity may well be limitless.”
