Kennedy Center Honors

One of my favorite shows to watch in December is the Kennedy Center Honors.

The Kennedy Center Honors is an annual honor given to those in the performing arts for their lifetime of contributions to American culture. The Honors have been presented annually since 1978 in Washington, D.C., during gala weekend-long events that culminate in a performance honoring the Honorees at the Kennedy Center Opera House.

On Thursday, September 12, 2013, the 2013 recipients were announced and here they are:

Martina Arroyo, Herbie Hancock, Billy Joel, Shirley MacLaine and Carlos Santana

I am looking forward to the musical tributes to Herbie Hancock, Billy Joel and Carlos Santana. Not sure if they can top last year’s show, when they honored Buddy Guy and Led Zeppelin. But I think they will come close.
