I have always been a fan of George Benson. So when I was organizing my songs on my iPod, I found George Benson’s version of The Beatles‘ song “The Long and Winding Road” (video).
“The Long and Winding Road” is a ballad written by Paul McCartney (credited to Lennon–McCartney) that originally appeared on The Beatles‘ album Let It Be. It became The Beatles’ 20th and last number-one song in the United States on 23 May 1970, and was the last single released by the quartet. “The Long and Winding Road” was listed with “For You Blue” as a double-sided hit when the single hit number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 in 1970. (from wikipedia.com)
So that got me to find what other artists covered this song and here is what I found. Here are some of them:
This will tell you how much of a Beatles fan I am. I didn’t know that:
While the released version of the song was very successful, the post-production modifications to the song by producer Phil Spector angered McCartney to the point that when he made his case in court for breaking up The Beatles as a legal entity, McCartney cited the treatment of “The Long and Winding Road” as one of six reasons for doing so. (from wikipedia.com)
This was offered to Tom Jones in 1968 on the condition it be his next single. He had “Delilah” set for release so he turned down the offer, something he would later regret. (from songfact.com).
One of the last Beatles songs, Paul McCartney wrote this based on tensions within the band. (from songfact.com).

Maybelline Kissing Potion Lip Gloss
Maybelline Kissing Potions were the first roll-on lip glosses. They came in an assortment of flavors, and could be purchased at the local five and ten store, which was the main retail source for many beauty products of the 1970’s.
I think had all of the flavors that Maybelline made. If memory serves me right… they really didn’t or smell that good. But I had to have them.
While I was searching this, I saw that you could buy some Kissing Potions on eBay. Might have to look into that.

Well, who knew there was so much drama this season?
Since Kim Zolciak Biermann had to be elimated due to her Kim’s health issues. Everyone else was safe this week.
Rules are rules…
Out of the two pairs that were on deck to be voted off, this class.
Good news for Paula Deen & Louis van Amstel and Andrew & Allison who get to dance another week.
And once again, I have to ask why is Gary Busey & Anna are still on the show?
Here is my pick for the best of the night:
Nick Carter and Sharna Burgess
Best Theme Song(s):
I Dream of Jeannie

The other night I got to spend a wonderful night of good food & wine and laughter with some good people… my co-workers.
It was the first time we got together outside of work time. I don’t know about them, but I had a great time. It’s strange how we feed off each other when we tell stories or gang up on each other (in a fun way.)
Working with people like that makes the long days go by faster and gives you the breaks you need to laugh when times are tough.
So, to my two co-workers, thanks you for the laughs, good conversations and what I’ve learned from you. At the end, that is what truly matter to me.

Happy Birthday, Kristelle!
Have you ever had that friend that you can go for a long time not talking to, but when you do, if feels like to time has past?
That is my friend, Kristelle. We met when we were taking classes at Mott Community College. Her boys, Anthony and Chad were little boys when we first met. So it had to be in the late 80’s.
For our 40th birthdays, we met up in Las Vegas. She made it there in a snow storm in Michigan.
I miss visiting with her and family. I miss not talking to her more frequently.
Every September 25th, I call and wish my friend a Happy Birthday.
I know we’ll see each other again… someday. But until then, enjoy your special day! ❤️
