Joe and the Chicago Cubs

Sweet baby, Jesus. What is going on with the Chicago Cubs?

CHICAGO — For the first time in the history of Wrigley Field, the Cubs clinched a postseason series at home, edging the mighty Cardinals, 6-4, in Game 4 of the National League Division Series. The Cubs now can party as they wait to see whether they’ll face the Mets or the Dodgers in the NL Championship Series, which opens on Saturday.

I know what… it’s my brother,  Joe doing some kind of wheeling and dealing in heaven.

Joe was a diehard Cubs fan. He always had faith that one day, one day th hat the Cubbies would win the World Series.

On one of Joe’s birthdays, our parents sent us to Chicago, via the train, to see a Cubs game at Wrigley Field. Which happens to be a great place to watch a game. We had seats in left field. We were even on WGN. The was a ball hit about 30 feet over our heads, but we jumped up like we had a chance to catch it.

It was a great time and a great memory to have. I guess we did have really cool parents. Sending two teenagers, by themselves to some place they never been to.

So maybe this season, they will finally win. And if they do, I know Joe would had something to do with it.

Here’s to the Chicago Cubs, I hope you finally win the World Series. Joe was one of your biggest fans.
