Happy National Middle Child Day!

‚ÄčThis is for all of my fellow Middle Children out there.

Each year on August 12th, National Middle Child Day is observed across the United States. This day gives special recognition to the middle child or children in the family. It is believed by many that birth order plays a pivotal role in the personalities of children.

This is OUR day! We will rule the world!

Song of the Day

I have been listening to my iTunes library lately. I forgot that I have some of my favorite songs on there. Here is one of my favorites from the 80’s.

Only Time Will Tell” by the¬†Asia from their successful first album, Asia (1982).

I remember listening to the album for hours in my room growing up. I would be singing in my microphone (hair brush), playing this song over and over again. Now, whenever I hear it, it brings a smile to face thinking of where I was the first time I heard the song.

And for those of you who want to sing along with me, here you go.

Only Time Will Tell

You’re leaving now
It’s in your eyes
There’s no disguising it
It really comes as no surprise
To find that you planned it all along

I see it now
Becomes so clear
Your insincerity
And me all starry-eyed
You’d think that I would have known by now

[Chorus:]
Now, sure as the sun will cross the sky
This lie is over
Lost, like the tears that used to tide me over

(Only time will tell)
One thing is sure
That time will tell
(Only time will tell)
If you were wrong
The brightest ring around the moon
Will darken when I die

[Chorus]

You’re leaving now
It’s in your eyes
There’s no disguising it
It really comes as no surprise
To find that you planned it all along

I see it now
Becomes so clear
Your insincerity
And me all starry-eyed
You’d think that I would have known by now

[Chorus]

(Only time will tell)
You’re on your own
Inside your room
(Only time will tell)
You’re claiming victory
You were just using me
And there is no one you can use now

(Only time will tell)
One thing is sure
That time will tell…
