Family and Friends

I totally stolen this from my friend, Giggy. But it’s really good and how I feel.

Something I have wanted to do the past year or two, and given recent events, I hope to start doing today. I have reached that age where the heroes of my youth are passing away with greater frequency, as are friends and colleagues who I have met on my journey through life. We don’t always get the opportunity to say goodbye, or tell people how much they meant to us before they move on, so I hope to reach out to all of you at some point over the next 4 days or 4 years and make you aware of the impact you have had on my life. If I reach out to you sooner rather than later, that does not necessarily mean that I think you are most likely to die the soonest. In addition, if I don’t reach out to you until 2022, don’t take that as an indicator of the relative importance of the impact you have had on my life. And If I don’t reach out to you before you meet your maker, or, even worse, if I happen to kick it before I get to you, know that each and every one of you have made an indelible imprint on my life. Facebook friendship status is, after all, the highest acknowledgement of communal bond that one human being can bestow upon another in the 21st century. Love to you all.

Thanks, Giggy, words I want to live by.
