Dancing with the Stars — The All-Stars — Week 10: Finale

Dancing with the Stars — The All-Stars

;

The final pairs of season 15 are:

Well after three months, it comes down to the final three pair. Tonight’s show was good and all three pairs did their best.

And the pair that I think deserves to win is Melissa and Tony. There is no drama like with Kelly and Val; no stunts and breaking to rules like Shawn and Derek. Melissa and Tony dance like they know what they are doing plus being entertaining.

Best song(s) of the night —

Conga“—Gloria Estefan/Miami Sound Machine

I have always loved this song. If this song doesn’t get you moving, nothing will.

;

Side note:

The picture of the three finalists is from Dancing with the Stars Facebook page. Why did they pick a picture of Kelly looking so mean? That is one of the reason that I don’t care for Kelly.

I think it is time for Carrie Ann Inaba to leave. She is just too over the top sometimes. And that is hard to do when you have Bruno Tonioli sitting next to you.

While I watch the show, I am on the social media site, Get Glue. I have has so much fun posting on Get Glue with other DWTS fans. Sometimes, someone gets their panties in a bunch, but overall it is god, clean fun.

Dancing with the Stars — The All-Stars — Week 9

Dancing with the Stars — The All-Stars

Week 9: Semi-finals

The five remaining couples have two dances each this week: one unlearned dance to the music from Michael Jackson‘s album Bad and one dance chosen by the other couples. The theme of the last dance was also chosen by the other couples. Kelly and Val chose the “Caveman” Hustle for Melissa and Tony, Emmitt and Cheryl chose the “Knight Rider” Bhangra for Shawn and Derek, Gilles and Peta chose the “Big Top” Jazz for Apolo and Karina and Shawn and Derek chose the “Espionage” Lindy Hop for Emmitt and Cheryl. This left the “Surfer” Flamenco for Kelly and Val. Gilles and Peta would have danced the “Mad Monk” Merengue chosen by Apolo and Karina had they not been eliminated.

There will also be another double elimination this week, due to the Finals.

The final pairs of season 15 are:

Now the only star that has not won is Melissa Rycroft. All season long, I have said that I really want Tony Dovolani to finally win a mirror ball trophy. But that would mean Melissa would need to win too. I really have never liked Melissa. But if I want my pick to win, I guess I have to root for her too.

Plus, I really think that a star who has not won, should win this season.

So my lick (finally) of who I want to win this season… Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani. They have really done a really good job this season and they have improved since the first time they were on the show. So they deserve it.

Best song(s) of the night —

Man in the Mirror“—Michael Jackson

Week 8: Trio challenge

All seven couples chose one professional that was either previously eliminated or participates in the dance troupe, to perform with them in their Latin routine in an event known as the “Trio Challenge”. There will also be a double elimination. In honor of Veterans Day, the first round will feature performances to songs that pay homage to servicemen and women

So here is my two-cents for the night and the two pair that I think should be eliminated.

Kirstie Alley and Maksim Chmerkovskiy — They have already been on 2 or 3 weeks longer than they should have.

Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Kirstie Alley

Shawn Johnson and Derek Hough — They pissed off the judges (who were really cranky tonight) with their lack of Samba dance.

Looking forward to the results show tomorrow night. Let’s see if any of my prediction come true!

Side note:

While I watch the show, I am on the social media site, Get Glue. I love reading what other fans of the show have to say.

How cool was it to see Tristan MacManus again! I love him!

Dancing with the Stars — The All-Stars

Week 6: Country Week

Each contestant and their partner danced to a country song, hence the name “Country Week.” Each individual routine included a solo portion by the celebrity member of the pair

I was trying my best to pay attention to tonight’s show. With watching updates about Hurricane Sandy, football, playing Zombie Farm and finding the cables to my printer… it was a busy night. Plus, this season, I am not into all of the back stories of their journey to the dance. I would just rather watch then dance. Plus, the judges, well Carrie Ann Inaba, in particular, is getting on my nerves more this year. And then there is the drama with the stars and professionals crying abut how hard it is for them… I’ve only got one thing to say about that… There is no crying in ballroom dancing!

So hear is my two-cents for the night.

The best of the night —  Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani

Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani

I’m not a 100% fan of Melissa, but she and Tony did really goo tonight. Plus I really wont Tony to win once and someone who has not won win this season.

The Oh they need to go home pairKirstie Alley and Maksim Chmerkovskiy

Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Kirstie Alley

It’s been entertaining watching her this season, but enough is enough. She had her 15 minutes of glory, now its time for the real serious contenders.

If this pair doesn’t go home, then Emmitt Smith and Cheryl Burke should be the next pair voted off. I just don’t like this pair at all and they already have won a mirror ball trophy. Move along and let someone else win.

Best song(s) of the night —

“I Play Chicken with a Train”—Cowboy Troy

Home“—Blake Shelton — I love this song. I love Michael Bublé  version better. But Blake’s is pretty close.

Looking forward to the results show tomorrow night. Let’s see if any of my prediction come true!

Side note:

While I watch the show, I am on the social media site, Get Glue. Because of Hurricane Sandy, some of DWTS fans could not watch the show. So there were some other fans of the show posting the dances, scores and some of the comments from the show on the site. I thought that was pretty cool that totally strangers but fans of the same show would do something like this for them!

Dancing with the Stars — The All-Stars

Week 5: Guilty pleasures

  • The top two couples with the highest total cumulative points/average became “team captains” and chose teams to join them in the Team Freestyle; these captains were Gilles & Peta and Shawn & Derek. Gilles & Peta’s team consists of Kelly & Val, Emmitt & Cheryl, and Kirstie & Maks. Shawn & Derek’s team consists of Sabrina & Louis, Melissa & Tony, and Apolo & Karina. Bristol & Mark would have joined the team who lost a member, but they were eliminated in Week Four. (from wikipedia.com)

OK, the 2nd half of the show was tonight and I think it was a little better than last night’s show.

My favorite pair from tonight’s show was Sabrina Bryan and Louis van Amstel.  I really hope that a star that has not won before wins the mirror trophy. And Sabrina and Louis look like they are having a lot of fun on the dance floor.

Sabrina Bryan and Louis van Amstel

And the best song of the night was “Give It to Me Baby“—Rick James. I was just saying to myself, why isn’t there more ballroom dancing to Rick James music!

So everyone is safe this week and on next week’s show, someone will go home. I still don’t have my pick of who I want to win yet. I have some favorites, but I can’t pick just one pair right now. I will by the end of the show… I think?!

Until next week!

Since only 1/2 of the pairs danced on tonight’s show, I will wait till tomorrow’s night show to make my weekly picks. But I will pick the Best song(s) of the night —

It was “Copacabana“—Barry Manilow danced by Emmitt and Cheryl.

A Little Bit of Everything

Today, I had so many thing swarming in my head, that I couldn’t think of one thing to blog about today. So I’m just going to throw them out there and hopefully they will make some sense.

Dancing with the Stars — Finally — Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas got voted off! She just seemed like a bad egg. I don’t know her, but as a TV personality, she put herself out there to be watched/judged by other. I’m just happy that I don’t have to see her dance again!

Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas

I saw this and I totally had to steal it borrow it. One of these days,I hope to make them.

Rainbow Waffles: Easy At-Home Instructions
By | Team Mom

Simple Waffles

(Yields 4 cups batter)
2 cups all purpose flour
2 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 ¾ cups milk
1/3 cup vegetable or canola oil
2 eggs
Vegetable spray for waffle iron
For rainbow waffles:
Food coloring
Whipped cream

1. Whisk together dry ingredients in a large bowl. Whisk together wet ingredients in a medium bowl. Gradually add wet ingredients to dry and stir until combined. Don’t over mix, it’s okay if there are a few lumps.

2. Divide batter into six bowls. Add food coloring to each to achieve desired vibrancy – the brighter the better. You will need a little more batter for the outside colors: red, orange, and yellow, than the inside colors: green, blue, and purple.

3. Heat waffle maker according to manufacturer’s instructions. Spray lightly with vegetable oil as necessary.

4. If you want them to be perfect, transfer batter to piping bags, squeeze bottles, or zip log baggies with one corner snipped off. You can also just carefully spoon batter from bowls.

5. Quickly squeeze or spoon colored batter in concentric circles onto prepared iron. Start with purple in the center, surround with blue, then green, yellow, orange, and red. Cook according to waffle maker manufacturer’s instructions.

6. You can cut waffle in half and decorate with a dollop of fluffy whipped cream to make extra cute.

I just saw this picture on Facebook… Mint chocolate chip cookies.

I brought my self an iPad. I didn’t need an iPad, but I got one anyways. I have set up some stuff on there. I got some Apps and some songs. But I really haven’t test drove it out and about yet. Will see, it’s just one more thing to carry around with me in my bag of electronic gadgets.

Why do I watch the TV show Tia & Tamera? I didn’t watch them when they had their own TV show. But for some reason, I catch myself watching their reality show. Here is the link so you to can get hooked on the show just like me — Tia & Tamera – Official Site – Style Network – myStyle.com.

Are you really a true fan of any sport team if you only really start watching them when they are in the playoffs?Since I was born and raised in Michigan, I guess I had a preference to liking teams from Michigan. the Detroit Lions, Detroit TigersDetroit Red Wings and the Detroit Pistons. It hasn’t always been a fun road to take, but I have been a fan through the good, bad and ugly. So now that the Tigers are in the playoffs, I have watched more baseball on TV then I have in the past couple of years. And anytime I can see the Lions play, I try to catch the game. Living in South Texas, we mostly get to watch the Dallas Cowboys or Houston Texans games.

Regardless, if I have watched one game or all of the games, I’ll be cheering on my Michigan teams.

Here is an article of an incident that happened in San Antonio the other day. It has to deal with road rage. And you would think after this happened, that people would drive differently on the road today. But NO!

What the kicker of this story is that the man who got cut off and then shot the other driver is the one who died. Was it really worth being in front of someone to die? How do you explain that to that person’s family? And is it the fault of the other driver who cut him off? Was he responsible for the driver with the gun to shot him?

All I know, is that my life is more important that an idiot who cuts me off or tailgates me. If they want to act a fool, go right ahead, Just leave me out of it!

Cops: Dead gunman started road rage clash

Call me jaded, but I have a really problem with people who are well off cry about… anything! Really? You live on a 1/2 million house, you don’t have to work outside the home, but you have probably one of the hardest jobs as a stay-at-home mom. You seem to have all the material objects you want or need and you complain. Maybe the grass isn’t greener on the other side. But as one of my favorite Elvis Presley songs says… “Walk a Mile in My Shoes!” What a crazy world we live in!!
Any way I can put an Elvis video on my blog, I will! Check out how HOT Elvis was in this video from “That The Way It Is” ( August 11, 1970 – Midnight Show). I would have loved to seen him in concert in that setting!
I need a little help here. For some reason, when I cut and paste something here, the cursor jumps back to the beginning of where I pasted the word or sentence. Any suggestion on how I can make this stop?? Urrrg!
Well, I think  I have purged enough from my head for tonight. I feel a little better. Maybe I need to do this once a week — lucky you!

Dancing with the Stars — The All-Stars — Week 4

Dancing with the Stars — The All-Stars

Week 4: Opponents’ choice

  • All of the celebrities chose a dance style for one of their opponents, as well as getting their style of dance chosen by a fellow competitor. Paula Abdul will appear as a guest judge.

This week show was: Charleston, Rock n’ Roll, Disco, Bolero, Bollywood, Jitterbug, Mambo, Hip-Hop and Contemporary. All of the dances were done pretty good. I think the hardest ones were Bollywood done by Gilles & Peta and Mambo done by Shawn & Derek.

The best of the nightShawn Johnson and Derek Hough.  I think they have a really strong chance to win again. Especially if the other teams think that they need to match her moves.

Shawn Johnson and Derek Hough

The not-so-best of the night — Apolo Anton Ohno and Karina Smirnoff — they danced to Hip-Hop and it wasn’t a dance Karina knew or liked. During their dance, she slips and falls. It was unfortunate that she fell and she felt bad about, but hopefully they won’t get voted off for that.

Apolo Anton Ohno and Karina Smirnoff

But it is time for Kirstie Alley  or Bristol Palin to be voted off. Grant it, Kirstie is entertaining to watch and more power tho her, being the oldest star there. But, now it’s time for the stars who can really dance to be on the show. Same goes for Bristol… she just can’t dance. I think the judges are just too nice to her.

Best song(s) of the night

This song reminds me of a job I had in Flint. Michigan at the local Y.W.C.A. working with teenagers at a summer camp. Good times!

Side note:

Carrie Ann Inaba wasn’t too crazy acting this week. But Paula Abdul and  Bruno Tonioli could have been separated at birth!! And  when Len Goodman started talking about dancing Disco at Studio 54… watch out!

I have said it before, I don’t like Melissa Rycroft  but I want Tony Dovolani  to win a mirror trophy! To me, she seems to have a bad attitude and think she is better than everyone else.

Excited to see the results show tomorrow night. Not only to see who gets voted off, but Donny Osmond & Susan Boyle are going to be singing “This is the Moment”.

OK, that is my 2-cents for this weeks show.Let’s see if any of my picks are right?

All-Star Teams

Dancing with the Stars — The All-Stars — The Results

Dancing with the Stars — The All-Stars

Well, ain’t that a kick in the rubber parts! Double elimination on last night’s show. And ones that really needed to go, live to dance another day!

The first pair eliminated were Drew Lachey and Anna Trebunskaya! What??!! Grant it, Drew was not as good as he was when he won, but he was getting there. I think one or two more weeks and he would have been at the same level as before. He was robbed!

The next pair eliminated were Hélio Castroneves and Chelsie Hightower were the second pair eliminated. Like Drew, Hélio was ROBBED!

Now, the fans really seem to like Bristol Palin and Kirstie Alley. How the heck can these two be still on the show with Drew and Hélio gone?

Now before people start calling me a hater…

1. This is my blog and I can say what I like.

2. Dancing with the Stats is just a TV show, not brain surgery or anything important.

3. These “stars” are aid to be on the show. So they put themselves in the limelight to be talked about. Comments — good, bad and the ugly come along with that limelight.

4. Anyone who is offended by posts and comments need not participate in blogs and other social media sites.

Yes, I got “scolded” by someone on Get Glue. Whatever! I kindly told her what I thought about posting on social media sites and not to take things so seriously.

So, I’m going to still watch the show even though I think the whole thing is rigged. It still entertainment and I can put my two-cents on what is going on.

All-Star Teams

Dancing with the Stars — The All-Stars — Week 3

Dancing with the Stars — The All-Stars

On tonight’s show:

Week 3: Iconic Dances Week

  • Celebrities must chose an iconic routine from the previous fourteen seasons and perform it but try to make it as “iconic” as it was previously. There will also be a double-elimination

I have to say, the dance on tonight’s show were pretty good. But there was also a lot of drama on tonight’s show. Most of it involved Bristol Palin and her partner, Mark Ballas. And if that wasn’t enough, there is going to be a double elimination on next show.

So, here are my picks for this week.

Who did the best:

As much as I hate to admit it, Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani did really good. I mostly want Tony to finally win a mirror trophy, so it’s really him that I like, not Melissa. She looks like she is a diva and could be a pain to deal with. But they had a good dance, so they should make it to the finals.

The two pairs that I think need to be voted off:

Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas

Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas

There are many reasons why I picked this pair, but mostly it is because she is such a drama queen. Crying and telling Mark that she knows he wished he was with his other partners from past shows, Shawn Johnson and Sabrina Bryan. I didn’t know that the show was in the setting of the 7th grade and Bristol was crying because no one likes her!

The other pair, is a little harder to pick. But I have to go with: Emmitt Smith and Cheryl Burke

Cheryl Burke and Emmitt Smith

Emmet looks like he is just phoning it in. He won his mirror ball trophy, why does he need another one. Plus, he looks like he think he’s all that and better than everyone else.

Best song(s) of the night —

So, we shall see if any of my picks come true on the results show. Looking forward to seeing more of the drama of Dancing with the Stars!!

Side note:

To repeat previous posts: Brooke Burke Charvet is a terrible co-host and Carrie Ann Inaba acts like she is drunk! It’s not a pretty sight.

Did they get new singers this season? They sound a little bit off.

While I watch the show, I am also on Get Glue with other DWTS fans. Tonight, I got “yelled” at by someone when I made a comment about her comment about Emmet Smith. She said that she was too classy to make any comments about what I posted. I told her, go ahead, you can make any comments you want to, I don’t care. I told her its a forum where fans can post, good, bad and ugly comments with other people who have the same interests. Then there were some people who said that some people were being means and hateful. What??!! Again, calm down, it’s just ballroom dancing!!

Next week’s show should be interesting:

All of the celebrities will choose a dance style for one of their opponents, as well as getting their style of dance chosen by a fellow competitor. Paula Abdul will appear as a guest judge.

Could Paula be taking the place of someone?? Carrie Ann?
