Dancing with the Stars (Season 12)

I think Dancing with the Stars was the first topic that I blogged about on a regular basis when I first started blogging. Another season of the show is just around the corner and here I go again with my 2-cents worth on the show.

Usually before the season starts, I like to pick my favorite the team that I think will win, the team that really shouldn’t be on the show and my dark horse pick who you wouldn’t think could win. Plus a add my favorite songs that the teams danced to.

So here are the stars and the professional dancers for Dancing with the Stars (Season 12):

My picks:

Who I want to win: Ralph Macchio and Anna Trebunskaya. I can’t help it, long live the 80’s!!

Yikes, why are they on the show: Kirstie Alley and Maksim Chmerkovskiy

Dark-horse pick, maybe they could win it all: Kendra Wilkinson and Louis van Amstel

I think this season, I’m going to get track of who dances with their shirt off the most — Dmitry Chaplin or Tony Dovolani.

DWTS (Week 10) — The Finals

Well the DWTS (Season 9) finals were on tonight and the last three teams were:

I think this is the first time that I liked all three teams in the DWTS finals. All of them were good and had some pretty good dances. But I think I will have to go with my pre-season pick and favorite star — Donny & Kym.

The scores for tonight’s show were: Mýa & Dmitry — 87, Donny & Kym — 85 and Kelly & Louis — 76.

None of the three teams had an outstanding free style dance, so I think it is going to be the fans vote that will choose which team will win the mirror ball trophy. And that team will be Donny & Kym.

Side Notes:

Favorite song of the night — “Maniac“—Michael Sembello

Favorite professional dancer: Dmitry Chaplin

DWTS — Week 9

The finals of Dancing with the Stars (Season 9) is next week and here are my three picks for who I think should be in the finals and why:

Mýa and Dmitry Chaplin – from the start, I think Mýa was one of the better “stars” on the show and she has improved over the weeks. Even Len Goodman has come around and has been giving Mýa & Dmitry high scores!! They deserve to be in the finals. And most important… I thinkg Dmitry does a better “shirt unbutton — show my bear chest” than Tony Dovolani.

Kelly Osbourne and Louis Van Amstel – I think Kelly has been one of the fan favorites. I really didn’t think so would do as well as she has, but she has improved every week. Plus I think it’s time for Louis to finally make it to the finals and maybe win. Plus if Kelly makes the finals, Ozzy Osbourne might show up!!

Donny Osmond and Kym Johnson – from the start of the season, Donny and Kym were my pick to win it all! I think they deserve to be in the finals — Donny’s fans will make sure of that. But I’m not too positive that they can beat Mýa and Dmitry. He will at least do better than his sister, Marie Osmond did!! And that is all that really matters at the end!!

OK, these are my picks. Looking forward to tomorrow night’s show and see if my picks are right. Regardless of who makes the finals, it has been a fun season to watch.

Side Notes:

  • Someone really needs to duct tape over Samantha Harris!! I swear when she does her little interviews while the teams are waiting for their score… arrrgg!!

DWTS — Week 6

It’s getting serious now, double elimination tomorrow night. I have been trying to be good and watch DWTS, but I have found myself switching channels to watch “One Tree Hill.”

But I watched all of the dances. I have to agree with the judges, it being week 6, I expect the dances to be a little better than they were.

Who did the best: Mark Dacascos and Lacey Schwimmer

Mark Dacascos & Lacey Schwimmer

WOW, maybe they can dance: Aaron Carter and Karina Smirnoff — as long as Aaron doesn’t go overboard and show-ff, he does pretty good. (Still don’t want them to win!)

Who should leave: Any two of these teams can be voted off, I think it is their time to go.  Melissa Joan Hart and Mark Ballas, Michael Irvin and Anna Demidova, Louie Vito and Chelsie Hightower.

Side Notes:

  • Favorite song of the night: “Ran Kan Kan” by Tito Puente — “The King of Latin Music”

Dancing with the Stars — Week 3

It was a really interesting show tonight. Some of the teams did well, so didn’t. The judges are really tough this season. And whatever that thing was between Donny Osmond and Bruno Tonioli — I’m at a loss for words to describe that. That is what I mentioned before about what I didn’t want to see Donny Osmond do in the show. Too much!

Who did the best: Mýa and Dmitry Chaplin (Why does Len Goodman not like Mýa and Dmitry?)

Mya & Dmitry ChaplinWOW, maybe they can dance: Natalie Coughlin and Alec Mazo and Louie Vito and Chelsie Hightower did a good job this week. Louis Vito was so cute with his hair… combed!

Who should leave: Well my pick from last week  Tom DeLay and Cheryl Burke made it for another week. (Kathy Ireland and Tony Dovolani were voted off.)  I think it is time for them tho move on. Unless he’s the Cloris Leachman (Season 7) for this season and they are going to keep him on as long as they can!!??

But then there is Michael Irvin and Anna Demidova. Michael isn’t one of my favorite former/current NFL player who has been on the show. But I wonder how he would have done with someone other than Anna? To me, she is missing something.

So does the team that has someone that is injured get voted off or does the the team with the lowest score get voted off?
