Do You Remember This Movie?

I have no idea what I remember this movie and am fascinated with it.

Dead Alive (1992)

Dead Alive (1992) Poster

A young man’s mother is bitten by a Sumatran rat-monkey. She gets sick and dies, at which time she comes back to life, killing and eating dogs, nurses, friends, and neighbors.

Director: Peter Jackson | Stars: Timothy Balme, Diana Peñalver, Elizabeth Moody, Ian Watkin

from IMDB.com

I only saw it once, I think I might have caught in the middle of the movie. But it stuck with me.

For the longest time, I couldn’t remember the title of the movie and I Googled it until I found the title.

It’s been a while since I saw it, I think I need to find it and watch during one of my lunch breaks from work.

Braindead or Dead Alive (1992)

I have blogged before about movies I have seen and sometimes wonder if I dreamt it or if it was for real. Here is one of those movies — Dead Alive (1992), it’s a comedy-horror film (doesn’t seem to go together, but it works.)

Braindead (New Zealand 1992), released as Dead Alive in North America, is a cult zombie comedy splatstick horror film directed by Peter Jackson. The film is widely regarded as being one of the goriest films of all time.” (From wikipedia.com)

Lionel, a Mama’s boy has the unwanted honor of having to look after his overbearingly evil mother. He ends up falling in love with a local woman who believes that they’re destined together. In a moment of intentional sabotage of one of their dates, his mother is bitten by a mysterious creature that ends up zombifying her. It’s only a matter of time before she rises from the dead a powerful, bloodthirsty zombie. It’s only a matter of time before she starts infecting residents of the town and Lionel has to stop her…and them. Written by Mystic80

I’m really not sure when I saw this movie, I’m pretty sure that I did see this movie. It really isn’t the best of movies, but I was glued to the TV. I couldn’t believe what I was watching. It was probably one of the grosses movies I have ever seen. But it was funny too.

Here are some of the actors who were in the movie: Timothy Balme, Diana Peñalver, Elizabeth Moody and Ian Watkin. I have no idea who they are or if they have ever been in anything else. Now I am on a mission to find that movie, if just for one thing, to prove that I did see this movie and it does exists!
