I get on these kicks of finding different versions of the same song. The most recent song that I have over 12 versions of is “Since I Fell For You” (1945).
“Since I Fell for You” is a jazz and pop standard. The blues ballad was composed by Buddy Johnson in 1945 and was first popularized by his sister, Ella Johnson, with Buddy Johnson and His Orchestra. The biggest hit version was recorded by Lenny Welch in 1963, reaching number four on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart. (from wikipedia.com)
Here is the version done by Lenny Welch.
Here are some of the other versions of the song that I have:
- George Benson
- Natalie Cole and Reba McEntire
- Vince Guaraldi
- The Rascals
- Gladys Knight
- Michael Bolton
- The Skyliners
- Nina Simone
- Al Jarreau, Bob James, and David Sanborn
- Andy Williams
- Charlie Rich
- Barbra Streisand
- Eartha Kitt
Does anyone else do this with their songs in their music library?
