One Shining Moment

I’m stealing this from my post in 2012.

One Shining Moment

I’m a fan of Men’s College Basketball and I usually watch the games during March Madness. But my favorite part of NCAA Men’s College Basketball Championship, is that they play “One Shining Moment” by Luther Vandross.

After I saw, I watched it again. I just love this song and I like the CBS montage shows with the song.

Here is the 2014 version of “One Shining Moment”.

Lyrics to “One Shining Moment“

The ball is tipped
and there you are
you’re running for your life
you’re a shooting star
And all the years
no one knows
just how hard you worked
but now it shows…
(in) ONE SHINING MOMENT, IT’S ALL ON THE LINE
ONE SHINING MOMENT, THERE FROZEN IN TIME

But time is short
and the road is long
in the blinking of an eye
ah that moment’s gone
And when it’s done
win or lose
you always did your best
cuz inside you knew…
(that) ONE SHINING MOMENT, YOU REACHED DEEP INSIDE
ONE SHINING MOMENT, YOU KNEW YOU WERE ALIVE

Feel the beat of your heart
feel the wind in your face
it’s more than a contest
it’s more than a race…

And when it’s done
win or lose
you always did your best
cuz inside you knew…
(that) ONE SHINING MOMENT, YOU REACHED FOR THE SKY
ONE SHINING MOMENT, YOU KNEW
ONE SHINING MOMENT, YOU WERE WILLING TO TRY
ONE SHINING MOMENT….

University of Kansas – National Championship

Congratulations the University of Kansas – National Championship!

Kansas Jayhawks defeated the Memphis Tigers to become the 2008 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament Champions.

Trailing 60-51 with 2:12 left in regulation, the University of Kansas men’s basketball team mounted a comeback that will go down as one of the most memorable in KU history to win the 2008 NCAA Division I National Championship Monday in the Alamodome. In overtime, Kansas defeated Memphis 75-68 for its fifth national title in school history.

As I watched the NCAA Men’s Final Four basketball game last night. I was surprised on how good the game was. I was rooting for Memphis to win… and they almost did. But when Kansas guard Mario Chalmers hit a 3-pointer with 2.1 seconds left in regulation to push the game into overtime, I knew the that KU was going to win the game.

Probably the best part of the game last night was “One Shining Moment,” performed by Luther Vandross and written by David Barrett . Why does that song bring tears to my eyes every year?
