Texas Sheet Cake

My Aunt, Dolores, made the best Texas Sheet Cake. I saw this recipe posted and had some great memories of her and that cake.

One day, I will make it myself.

This Is Me

The Legend of Tarzan

Hello… where have I’ve been? I just saw this movie tonight, THE LEGEND OF TARZAN (2016) and I’m in love with Alexander Skarsgård!

It has been years since the man once known as Tarzan (Alexander Skarsgård) left the jungles of Africa behind for a gentrified life as John Clayton III, Lord Greystoke, with his beloved wife, Jane (Margot Robbie) at his side. Now, he has been invited back to the Congo to serve as a trade emissary of Parliament, unaware that he is a pawn in a deadly convergence of greed and revenge, masterminded by the Belgian, Captain Leon Rom (Christoph Waltz). But those behind the murderous plot have no idea what they are about to unleash.

I really had not intenstion of watch this movie, but after the first 15 minutes, I couldn’t stop watching him, I mean the movie.

Know, I have to find out when it’s on again, so I can watch it again and see any of the parts I missed while I was starring at Alexander Skarsgård!

Words to Live By

Saw this on Facebook and it hit the nail on the head.

Here We Go

I Smell Cake*

Saw this posted on Facebook this afternoon.

Jazz Legend Al Jarreau Dead at 76

Just days after being hospitalized for exhaustion, the incomparable vocalist passed away in Los Angeles.

Here is one of his songs that I liked, “Boogie Down” from 1983.

R.I.P. and thank you for your music.

Side Note:

* My brother, Joe and I would always say this to each other after someone famous died.
“I smell cake! If Uncle Bernie died, someone’s gonna have to go on a beer run!”— Dan Dorian

“My Cake” is the sixth episode of Scrubs’ fourth season. J.D.’s father dies and he and his brother Dan have to cope with it.

73

There is more to this number 73, but for right now, I just want to post it here so I can remember.

If you would have told me six months ago that this number would mean something today, I would have laughed in your face.

But it’s real and it’s hard for me to believe that I did it.

So, manager wish for you is to make it a great day… today and everyday.

Happiness

What a difference a couple of months can make.

To those who are true friends… thank you.

To those who I thought were true friends… thank you for the lessons learned.

To those who listened to me and not judge… thank you.

I believe all of this has gotten ms to where I am at right now.

The next adventure is about to start real soon.

I’ve got to be happy.

Song of the Day

I was going through my music library on my iPhone and here is one of the songs that I have.

I remember when I first heard this song on “Family Ties.”

“At This Moment” is a song that was first recorded by Billy Vera & The Beaters in 1981 during a string of performances at the Roxy in West Hollywood (January 15–17) and featured on their self-titled live album, Billy and the Beaters, released that year on the American subsidiary of Japan’s Alfa Records.

Then, when the song was included on several episodes of the NBC sitcom Family Ties during the 1985-86 season as the love song associated with Alex P. Keaton (played by Michael J. Fox) and his girlfriend Ellen Reed (played by Tracy Pollan, whom Fox eventually married in real life), the exposure renewed interest in the song.

I just love this song.
