Dancing With the Stars (Season 17) — Week 9

Season 17

Here is my 2-cents for Week 9:

Trio Challenge

Each couple will perform one unlearned ballroom dance as well as a trio dance. Each couple chose one professional who was either previously eliminated or participates in the dance troupe to perform with them.

Crap, I picked Elizabeth Berkley and Valentin Chmerkovskiy as my Early-Bird pick, but they got voted off in Week 9.

I can’t believe that Bill Engvall and Emma Slater  are still on the show. It goes to show that the stars fan base plays a lot into the voting.

Bill Engval and Emma Slater

So I guess my pick to win now is: Jack Osbourne and Cheryl Burke. Out of the pairs that are left. I like Jack the most and it would be a nice change to have someone who is my really an entertainer win.

So here is my 2-cents for Week 4:Who I thought was the BEST: Even though I picked Elizabeth Berkley and Valentin Chmerkovskiy as my Early-Bird pick, I think I might have to change it to Corbin Bleu and Karina Smirnoff. I think Corbin Bleu is only going to get better and better.

Who I thought was the Worst: Sorry, as entertaining as Bill Engvall and Emma Slater are, it’s already coming down to who can really dance.

There seems to be a lot of good pairs dancing this season, not a break-through pair leading the group as in previous years. This season is open for any of the pairs to take the mirror trophy.Best song(s) of the night:

Just finished watching the show and here is my 2-cents for Week 3:

Who I thought was the BEST: Not the best of all the pairs, but their best: Bill Engvalland Emma Slater.

Who I thought was the Worse: Bill Nye and Tyne Stecklein

Best song(s) of the night:

“Skyfall”—Adele
“Get Lucky”—Daft Punk feat. Pharrell Williams

So here is my 2-cents for Week 2:

Who I thought was the BEST: I have to say that I liked Corbin Bleu and Karina Smirnoff dance. They looked like they were having fun doing the Jive.

Karina Smirnoff and Corbin Bleu

Who I thought was the Worse: Sorry, but I have to go with Bill Nye and Tyne Stecklein again. He must have a huge fan base, because that is the only way he was saved to dance another week!

 Best song(s) of the night:

Not too sure if I like the one show a week format. The whole group standing there waiting to see if the made it to the next round, made me nervous! And I think Keyshawn Johnson and Sharna Burgess could have made it a little farther than some of the other pairs.

I do have to confess, I was swithing back and forth with watching “The Voice”.  Why do they have them on at the same time??!!

Until next week.

Well the Season 17 started and I can honestly say, I am really surprised at the quality of Stars and the dances they did.

I do like the new format of the show. The pair getting judged right after the judges input and not having to run up to the skybox. Not too sure about having the judges and the cast sitting next to each other. Also, I’m not going to miss Night 2 of the show. I always thought it was a little too much.

So here is my 2-cents for Week 1:

Who I thought was the BEST: Even though I picked Elizabeth Berkley and Valentin Chmerkovskiy as my Early-Bird pick, I think I might have to change it to Amber Riley and Derek Hough. As much as I don’t want Derek to win again, Amber did a great dance.

Best song(s) of the night:

And new for this season: Which start, professional dancer, host or judge got on my nerves the most — Right from the start of the show, I have to give this title to Brooke Burke Charvet. At least we are seeing and hearing less of her (so far.)

Special kudos to Valerie Harper and Tristan MacManus. I hope this team stays around for a couple of weeks,. What an inspiration Valerie Harper is! Plus I still love Tristan!

I usually wait a week or two before I make my early-bird picks of who I think is again to win and who I think is going to lay an egg.

For the weekly show, I will put my 2-cents in on the following:

  • Who I thought was the BEST
  • Who I thought was the Worse
  • Best song(s) of the night
  • And new for this season: Which start, professional dancer, host or judge got on my nerves the most.

My posts are totally my opinion and no one else’s. Agree or disagree with me… fine. But as I mentioned before, this is my blog and my 2-cents.

Looking forward to the new season to start.

Side Notes:

Before anyone gets all crazy about the following:

These are not “STARS”. Hey, they have been or were on TV/Movies and they are more of a star than you are.

This or this star already knows how to dance. Yes, maybe they can dance, but I doubt it if they can dance Ballroom dances. So I think that puts everyone on the same level.

It’s going to be a given, I do not like Brooke Burke Charvet. I can not stand it when she asks “serious” questions to the pair right after they dance and run up the stairs. Can’t she see that they can’t breath and are just trying to catch their breathes?

In case you forgot, here is a list of the Winners of Dancing with the Stars:

  • Season 1: Kelly Monaco and Alec Mazo
  • Season 2: Drew Lachey and Cheryl Burke
  • Season 3: Emmitt Smith and Cheryl Burke
  • Season 4: Apolo Anton Ohno and Julianne Hough
  • Season 5: Helio Castroneves and Julianne Hough
  • Season 6: Kristi Yamaguchi and Mark Ballas
  • Season 7: Brooke Burke-Charvet and Derek Hough
  • Season 8: Shawn Johnson and Mark Ballas
  • Season 9: Donny Osmond and Kym Johnson
  • Season 10: Nicole Scherzinger and Derek Hough
  • Season 11: Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough
  • Season 12: Hines Ward and Kym Johnson
  • Season 13: J.R. Martinez and Karina Smirnoff
  • Season 14: Donald Driver and Peta Murgatroyd
  • Season 15: Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani
  • Season 16: Kellie Pickler and Derek Hough

Dancing with the Stars — The All-Stars — Week 3

Dancing with the Stars — The All-Stars

On tonight’s show:

Week 3: Iconic Dances Week

  • Celebrities must chose an iconic routine from the previous fourteen seasons and perform it but try to make it as “iconic” as it was previously. There will also be a double-elimination

I have to say, the dance on tonight’s show were pretty good. But there was also a lot of drama on tonight’s show. Most of it involved Bristol Palin and her partner, Mark Ballas. And if that wasn’t enough, there is going to be a double elimination on next show.

So, here are my picks for this week.

Who did the best:

As much as I hate to admit it, Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani did really good. I mostly want Tony to finally win a mirror trophy, so it’s really him that I like, not Melissa. She looks like she is a diva and could be a pain to deal with. But they had a good dance, so they should make it to the finals.

The two pairs that I think need to be voted off:

Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas

Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas

There are many reasons why I picked this pair, but mostly it is because she is such a drama queen. Crying and telling Mark that she knows he wished he was with his other partners from past shows, Shawn Johnson and Sabrina Bryan. I didn’t know that the show was in the setting of the 7th grade and Bristol was crying because no one likes her!

The other pair, is a little harder to pick. But I have to go with: Emmitt Smith and Cheryl Burke

Cheryl Burke and Emmitt Smith

Emmet looks like he is just phoning it in. He won his mirror ball trophy, why does he need another one. Plus, he looks like he think he’s all that and better than everyone else.

Best song(s) of the night —

So, we shall see if any of my picks come true on the results show. Looking forward to seeing more of the drama of Dancing with the Stars!!

Side note:

To repeat previous posts: Brooke Burke Charvet is a terrible co-host and Carrie Ann Inaba acts like she is drunk! It’s not a pretty sight.

Did they get new singers this season? They sound a little bit off.

While I watch the show, I am also on Get Glue with other DWTS fans. Tonight, I got “yelled” at by someone when I made a comment about her comment about Emmet Smith. She said that she was too classy to make any comments about what I posted. I told her, go ahead, you can make any comments you want to, I don’t care. I told her its a forum where fans can post, good, bad and ugly comments with other people who have the same interests. Then there were some people who said that some people were being means and hateful. What??!! Again, calm down, it’s just ballroom dancing!!

Next week’s show should be interesting:

All of the celebrities will choose a dance style for one of their opponents, as well as getting their style of dance chosen by a fellow competitor. Paula Abdul will appear as a guest judge.

Could Paula be taking the place of someone?? Carrie Ann?

All-Star Teams

DWTS (Season 14) — The Winners

Dancing with the Stars (U.S. season 14) is over and the winner of the mirror ball trophy is Donald Driver and Peta Murgatroyd.

Donald Driver & Peta Murgatroyd

Any of the final three pairs could have won this season. There were a lot more pairs that were good that made it an exciting season to watch, Rumors have it that the next season’s show will be an All-Star show with stars from the past 14 seasons. it should be interesting.

Till next season.

DWTS (Season 14) — Week 10

Dancing with the Stars (U.S. season 14) — The finals were on tonight and the pairs that danced tonight were:

Here is my tw0-cents worth on the show.

Best pair of the night and Surprise of the week: Donald and Peta

Donald Driver and Petra Murgatroyd

I was really surprised by their Freestyle. I didn’t see them having a country-themed dance. Bonus was the song that they danced to, “I Play Chicken with the Train” by Cowboy Troy.

Plus, who else could have worn Green Bay Green and Yellow with sequins!!

2nd and 3rd Place — William and Cheryl and Katherine and Mark — they danced well, but they didn’t have the WOW factor that Donald and Peta had.

I did pick William and Cheryl to win, but I think he’s good because he’s so HOT! So any of the final three pairs can win and I would not be disappointed.

Best songs of the night: “I Play Chicken with the Train” by Cowboy Troy

Side note: This season’s show was probably the best out of the 14 seasons. From the beginning of the season, you could tell that there was going to be three or four pairs that could win the mirror trophy. I’m looking forward to seeing all of the pairs come back for their last dance.

Well done, ABC and Dancing With The Stars!

DWTS (Season 14) — Week 9

Dancing with the Stars (U.S. season 14) — the end is near. The four pairs in the semi-final are:

Here is my two-cents.

Best pair of the night: William Levy and Cheryl Burke — I really want him to win. He is so damn cute!

Whoa, they really need to go home: Katherine Jenkins and Mark Ballas — She has done such a great job, but she seemed a little off on last night’s show.

Surprise of the week: William Levy and how he moved in rear!!

Best songs of the night:
